Just to reiterate this, while the food last year was awesome, I think it would be advantageous to find a place that might be better suited for the volume and shenanigans that are bound to take place.

I also want to reiterate that I'm incredibly excited for this. These have always been fun meets, largely due to both the quantity and quality of members who show up. Also Urmil is right, this would be a great meet for any new members, as it is a great chance to meet many of the people who have kept this community alive.
I will be sure to wear all my teeth

Great list of people.
I am guessing it will grow.
Charlie and I are researching places. It will be big enough for us all and it will be setup to view slide show and a mic to talk.
I've got a few people so far getting me pictures and video, if others have some S2000 event pictures they can supply me a link or send via email (don't send to many in email) to me personnel email just pm me and I will give it out.

Start time will probably be 6:30ish and we are looking at downtown Milw for dinner. We are looking at parking also.

As so far I have to add Zgradis is having a birthday also on Jan 3rd. So the list gets bigger for the reason why we need to have this. Like we need a reason.

Is it absolutely necessary to do the dinner in Milwaukee area?

Maybe we can do dinner in the outskirts of Milwaukee for ease of meeting and parking, and then head towards North Ave or Water St. for after dinner activities.

Parking in down-town with this kind of turnout would be chaotic at best. I know of a few places near MKE that should be able to support a group like ours and have great food. I can check them out and verify if you want.

Also, would you think it wise to include an entry fee to help cover the costs of supporting a huge group of people all at once? Any reasonable place is going to require an advance reservation of a party room for an additional cost.

Wow, this is looking like a huge group of great people-- I'm getting super excited already!

I know that parking can be a bee-yotch around the downtown area... for that reason I've started looking into places with accessible lots nearby (and parking fees are minimal; this ain't no Chicago $30/20 minutes ). I've spoken with some friends in the service industry and am looking into party rooms with food deals for all. I think we can still make it happen with minimal trauma to everyone involved. Also, if we want to go out downtown after dinner everyone's going to drive downtown anyway and have to find a parking spot; I understand and appreciate the suggestions (and please keep 'em coming!) but I think that might be even more chaotic than meeting downtown right away and walking to wherever we choose for after-dinner festivities.

Keith and I are going to get together next week to tour some joints and see what would make for the best possible option given our somewhat unique circumstances as a group. If we can't find anywhere that is built-to-suit with a room and parking at the ready we'll expand the search radius and make sure we can find somewhere that'll make for a fun-filled and non-stressful experience for everybody.

Cheers all!
Charlie

I think burbs of major cities is always a good choice, you can find cheaper better places some times, worth a look.

I vote for La Perla!!! Someone needs to get drunk enough off the gold Margherita's and ride the Jalepeno.

La Perla is still around, right?
