Badge coming off
My "2000" side badge is coming off...don't really know how. Anyone got a spare one? If not, anyone know if I can just use any regular double sided tape? Or should I just buy a new emblem online?
Thanks

Don't use regular double sided tape. Go over to NAPA or to AutoZone. Look for 3M automotive body tape. It's thin, it's got red tape backing, and it is made to adhere to painted surfaces.
Buy either the medium or wide roll for the badges.
Before taking off the badge, use masking tape on three sides to "mark" the position of the emblem as it sits now. Use this as your guide to re-applying your badge. Take off the badge that's falling off, then use something like Goo-Gone to take off all the residual tape and residue off the side of the car and the emblem. Use an alcohol cleaner on the back side of the emblem.
Cut off a length of tape to cover the backside of the emblem. Stick the emblem to the tape. Use an Exacto knife to trim off the tape that extends past the edges of the emblem.
Now position your emblem accordingly to your guide tape on the body of the car. Once you think you've got the position, take the backing off of one corner without moving the badge left or right, up or down. Take hold of the tape, and as you peel the backing away, stick the badge down so that it has less and less of a chance to move.
If you need help, just let any of us that have done this before know (like me).

The other way to go is to de-badge the car. Lots of people are doing it. There's enough S2000's out on the street that almost everyone should know what the car is by now (no need to gloat that you have an "S2000", and the lowly a-hole next you is in an Boxter or some other dimunitive and feminine car (aka Z3, Z4, Miata, Solstice, Sky, M3 vert, etc.).

The shading shouldn't be off any. In fact, if there is, I'd just suggest polishing the paint down on the fenders with a medium cut polishing pad and a light abrasive polish. Then polish the whole car with light cut pad and light abrasive polish.
You should be fine with color shading though.

I would, but I don't know what the paint looks like under that adhesive...I definitely don't need another shade of blue on my car...I think i'm up to 4
Wanna get the Mugen badge for replacement instead??
