Had a snow removal service come about an two hours ago. They cleared my driveway, my sidewalks along both sides of my house, sprinkled a salt mix onto the ground, cleared off my car, and then sprayed down the overhang on my garage with a liquid solution (I think it's something like HEET).
Then I took the Lexus out for a drive.
The engine wouldn't rev past 2000 rpm if I stepped on the gas in "Snow mode"...it'd go to 3500 rpm if I inched it. The car was very sure-footed with the road in and around my sub division not cleared.
I took the car out of "Snow mode"....now the fun starts. The car revs like you won't believe. However, as the rear starts to step out of track (or begins to yaw), the VSC kicks in and gets the rear in-line with the fron track. It's teaser mode.
I then turned off the VSC. The car is absolutely fun in an open lot! I can get the car sideways and power drift like I'm a D1 pro. The car gets going pretty quickly too with a lot of steering input to keep it straight.
One more step...I turned the ECU to "Power Mode". The car is undriveable. I can brake torque the car into a coin spin with very little effort....I can barely keep the car going straight without the rear breaking loose violently. As I'm just getting used to it...city plow driver stops and tells me to get out of the park (which isn't city property...it's property owned and managed by the home owners in our association).
It was fun....but I think I need Blizzaks for the Lexus. Now I'm going to take the Integra out...that is if I have enough underbody clearance.
As long as I get a "snow day", this stuff is fun....in fact, I'm bored already. Bring on Spring and Summer. Get this white stuff out of here!!!

Snow Mode, Power mode. VSC? Pimp mode can't be turn off can it?
I had Hankook Icebear (W300) on and it plowed though the slush this morning with no problems Cheaper alternative to Blizzaks, quiet ride too.

Hahaha, I was driving down the road in the impala doing like 30mph. I think I more afraid of driving the Impala than the S in the snow. Fortunately my 07 Impala will be here in a month or so.

Depends on the size of your rims. 235/45/17 cost ~$100 per tire. Donnieb hooked me up with them at Discount Tire.
Check www.edgeracing.com, they are having a sale on them right now for $97

Quick updat spent 4 hours at ohare. Flights were rescheduled and cancelled 4 times. They finally said all flights to vegas today are cancelled, all airlines at ohare. Got on the phone and found a ticket with southwest at midway. Now I've got 5 hours to kill. Today is not starting off well. At least I've got my crackberry and my ipod.

I was driving some young girls home at 5 after they snuck out and I never went under the posted speed limit, I was actually averaging 5-10 over in the X5.
