What's wrong with yo race car?
Pretty much decided I'm not going to autox it this year. It's going to get beat up enough this track season.

We'll see...
That's why you need a miata.

One thing with number magnets: WCMC has asked that all drivers remove all of these when going to and from their events. They feel it gives the impression of competition even when we're driving on the street.
What? Your kidding right....
Nope, as I got there, Pat was talking to Brian and Alex asking them to remove theirs.

I'm sorry...I draw the line here. Once I leave the lot...their responsibility and obligation go out the window. If I act like an asshat it's all on me...not them...and I hope any law enforcement would recognize that. If anything my numbers might draw others to see where I'm going, watch the races...and maybe bring their car next time.

My numbers are staying on until the event is over.

I'm not seeing I necessarily agree with them, I'm just saying that's what they told me.

I mostly worry something might happen and one of mine will fall off on the road, so I take 'em off when leaving. I don't think they care when it comes to going to grab lunch and stuff, though.

Counterpoint:

We once had a guy show up about 2 hours after the event started. He was too late to register and had missed the safety meeting. He got pissed and proceeded to do some donuts in the parking lot adjacent to the one the autox was being held on. He ends up running into a light pole. Security and the police show up. We had a whole season of autocross scheduled, and shortly after we received cancellation notices for the remaining events. Even though he had nothing to do with our autocross, he ruined it for everyone. It's true that as long as no one acts like an asshat in and around the event, all is good, but it is hard to expect 70 people to behave. That being said pure asshattery could ruin the event for everyone whether or not you keep your numbers on the car

Quick follow-up. You would be amazed how easy it is to lose a venue. If the coords are being a little anal realize it is for the good of the group so we can continue to do this on a regular basis. Whenever a police officer, town official, or even a concerned citizen comes to see what the ruckus is all about, we should be very welcoming and friendly. It doesn't cost anything and puts the club and our activities in a good light.
