autocross meet - may 20th
Let's do this again! We had a good turnout for the May 6th event despite the rainout. Good news is if you were at the May 6th event land paid, this event will be FREE.
I hope those first timers got the feel of how an autocross works and comes out for this one.

Something that we forgot to mention when running with miata club, self tech. Miata club ask that you inspect your car your car before or during your morning prep. All other clubs that I know of requires you pass their inspections.
If you do not know what is involved "tech'ing" a car, here is a list:
1. Your car be free of loose objects inside the vehicle. Unless it is bolted down, take it out.
2. Remove floormats. Reguardless if it has posts to keep it in place, remove your floor mats.
3. Brake pedal must be firm and solid. No mushy pedals. Bleed your brakes Brian!
4. Battery must be securely mounted. If you can shake the battery by hand, its not secure.
5. No fluid leaks. If your car leaves a puddle of fluid after sitting just a few minutes, you are leaking too much and will cause a hazardous track condition. No one wants that's
6. All lug nuts on and torqued properly.
7. Wheel bearings must be tight. To check for loose wheel bearing: Jack up wheel off ground- grab wheel at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position then rock wheel back and forth. If loose, then you have a bad wheel bearing. If tight with no freeplay, then wheel bearing is good.
8. Clean out your trunk.
9. Put your car number on your car. Most guys have magnetic numbers but you can use painters/blue tape.

One thing with number magnets: WCMC has asked that all drivers remove all of these when going to and from their events. They feel it gives the impression of competition even when we're driving on the street.
