Autocross 6/1

Autocross 6/1
Anyone getting tired of my posts yet? If so, come out and autocross to shut me up...maybe
Windy City Miata Club autocross. Last time we had 10 runs!
There are a few other events this coming weekend as well - SCSCC at Maywood and SCCA at Joliet.
I fully expect to see ycsm, stvtrnr, and Dezoris again. Jeggy - Delta 88 is having car problems so he won't be there! Speed Jr and hydeaway - hope you can make it too.
Maybe with my ABS working I can beat "nemesis" this week, but my car has developed some sounds since my Monday trek to Gingerman so I'll have to check those out (small chance I won't be able to make it, but not by choice).

I wouldn't recommend the tires I'm running. They are a race compound tire and should not be driven on the street (although the ones I have are probably the most streetable r-comp). As far as tires I recommend for the street there are a few I recommend. The Bridgestone RE01R, Dunlop Direzza Star Spec, Falken Azenis RT-615, and Hankook RS2 Z212 (in order of preference). These tires are a great compromise for street and racing. I remember you mentioning you're getting the Kosei's. If you're getting them from Tire Rack, order the Bridgestones or Dunlops with them and have them mounted by them as well. Not a far drive to South Bend for you either.

I have this Sunday off, so I'll try my hardest to not get called into work and finally get my ass to one of these Autocross thingamajigs. You still have a spare headsock?

Dezoris - I'll be there. Maybe not in the S but I'll be there. If the S isn't up for the task it will either be the Jetta TDI or my sister's Fit.
Gfunk - I should be able to get you a head sock. If I do take the s, I may ask you to bring up a tire for me.
Szm426 - should be there between 8:30 and 9. I usually show up at 8:30. Yes, it's in the CLC parking lot. It's $20 for members, $30 for non-members. Membership is $30 so it pays for itself after 3 autocrosses. You can find more info here: http://www.windycitymiataclub.com/autox/

I probably won't make this auto x. I have a track day at Autobahn CC on Monday and have too much to do on Sunday. I will make the rest of the events for sure. Someone needs to beat the Z3 M-sport on Sunday. Good Luck!
