Anyone here from Rochester, Minnesota
Just seeing if any fellow s2k'ers live in Rochester. I plan on doing an elective rotation in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mayo (if they let me in!) in mid September to October. How is the weather at that time of year? Anyone here work at the Mayo clinic? Any good gyms there? Nightlife? Any good back country roads?

Hi! I can fill you in a bit. Most importantly, we've had get-together drives for Minnesota and neighbors around that time of year the past two years. Hopefully, we'll do the same this year.
The weather in Sept/Oct can be sunny and warm or it can be cold and snowing. And, sometimes it's cold in Sept and warm in Oct. Can't count on anything. I usually install my winter tires some time in October, based on snow forcasts.
There are some very nice roads in the nearby area. Right around Rochester they are mostly straight, so you do have to go looking a bit. Near small rivers are some good roads and in the blufflands of the Mississppi.
There are some decent gyms. The nicest by far (and priciest, of course) is the Rochester Athletic Club which is an amazing facility for a city of our size. I'm not big on nightlife, but it's probably not the greatest. There's lots of live theatre if you like that. Many folks drive up to the Twin Cities for a big-city selection. Only about 1.25 hr drive.
