Hey everyone,
I am currently in the Marine Corps and am stationed in NC. I will be getting out next year and plan on moving to Iowa to be with my girlfriend. I have been searching for drag strips or S2Ki meets around there and cant find anything. This is not good! Is there anyone out there or around the Des Moines, IA area that meets up or does anything. Thanks.

Thanks, i guess i have been spoiled. i grew up with a drag strip down the road from me in Florida and now i am station in NC and i have another strip down the steet. That track is just over 2 hrs away. But it will be worth it. Hopefully i can get her to move..lol

 

I am from des moines. As far as a drag strip, there is one about 45 min away in Eddyville, but I believe its only a 1/8th mile. Mid america motorplex in council bluffs has a quarter mile and a great track.

Theres not really too much in the way of s2k meets around the des moines area, theres honda people out here, but its alot of kids with civics/integras and too much of their parents money, or stolen parts money. The s2k meets are usually with the Illinois/Wisconsin people from what I understand.

When do you plan on moving to town?

 

Cool well atleast there will be 1 S2000 guy to talk to. I am going to be comming there to see her a lot, i comming this weekend to. But i dont get out till July next year so that when it will be. I thought about selling the S2 when i am getting ready to come out there but i cant part with it. Yeah i would rather do a 1/4 mile over an 1/8 mile. i went on the mid america tracks site and it looks pretty good. Are you the only S2K in Des Moines?
