any detailing experts willing to lend a hand?
Hi, I have some residual contamination on my hood that I wasn't able to remove with products applied by hand, and living in a condo, a machine polisher isn't really an option for me. So, I'm hoping someone here can help. Below is a repost of what I posted in the Wash/Wax forum, and this thread provides some more background.
I was able to remove most of the opaque stuff with Meguiar's ultimate compound, but now something of a translucent "orange peel" remains, which is not as immediately obvious, but is noticeable as light reflects off of it. Taking the after pictures was a bit difficult, as I had to get the overhead light reflection in just the right spot, but the harsh light in an otherwise dim garage makes it look more like a scratch.
I still think it is on the surface, rather than etching down into the clearcoat. Hopefully this can be fixed with a machine polish, though I have no machine. Here are some pictures:

Thanks for your help,
Phil
