Default Another top slahshed and seats stolen

I have recently moved out to Chicago in feb from Dallas.
I had my car since 08 july. Never had anything like this untill i moved to chicago.
Pilsen is where I reside, The neighborhood is noticebly something will happen like this. I should of been more cautious and put a seat lock and alram.
My insurance is covering for all the damages. Thank god i have renewed my insurance few weeks back before this sh*t happpened.
My top was slashed about 15inches and my seats, navigation, rear bumper stolen right front of my drive way.
I expect some1 will do this but not in front of my condo. =(
I never really got on the fourms untill this.
Im amazed how many people got their seats stolen.
Im going to put seat locks and bought a used seats , Viper alram and patching the top for now.
I was wondering people who do this shi*t to s2k's know about the car and might be s2k owners?
Any advice about replacing soft top? anywhere for good price?
any hardtop forsale?
or anyone want to buy my car?
Ive been stressing about this for about 3 weeks since it happened.
where are the chicago s2k meetings?

Sorry to hear!

Don't sell your car because something like this happens, a few people were talking about a group buy for the OEM hard top so keep an eye out for that, but just a thought, if you rode a bicycle and you fell off would you stop riding it? Just because something bad happens doesn't mean you should give it up, thats my .02

The economy is in the shitter and thieves are coming out of the woodwork to make a buck... Pretty much what your saying, is we all have a duty to keep our stuff save. You might want keep a watch out on craigs list.

Look up, if insurance is paying for it you can get some brand new seats and a brand new top

This blows, the S2000 is really becoming the new Civic/Integra. Just keep your eyes out on Craigslist. I actually just heard of some guy buying some minty blue AP1 seats for $130 in Chicago (So in my mind they're stolen)!!!

By the way, what color seats?

Don't leave ANYTHING visible in your car (ipod, navi, etc) in Chicago.

Sorry for your loss. I'd never park an S2000 outside in Pilsen overnight...

No offense, but Pilsen is too hood to park an S2K outside. My first place was near the Abla homes and I would never have parked the S there.

Thieves know that S2K seats fit in their other Honda products, so they steal accordingly.

BTW, if you get a garage, make sure it has no windows and d@mn good doors and locks, they will jack you straight out of your garage too.... especially in Chicago where most garages empty out into a common and low-visibility alley.

Please be careful out there, times are tough (and despite what the media says) and look to be getting tougher

Sorry to hear about this man
