2005 Season, Tech Session 1: Basic Detail day
...on how to detail your car in and out.
Since there's a lot of detail to doing this right, I thought that I would make the "detail" session into two different session days. This first session will cover the basics to getting your car prepped for cleaning and protection. Since this will be a "basic" session, all work will be done by hand. We can get into using orbital polishers for the next session.
I will demonstrate and teach how to do basic exterior paint maintenance, and offer tips on interior cleaning (specifically for the S2000). This session will cover on proper ways to wash the car (and minimize wash time), basic paint clean-up, and basic paint protection for our thinly painted S2000's.
I've been maintaining my car for over 5 years now and many of you have seen the results of proper maintenance even with the car being driven through all seasons.
I will host this at my house, unless turn-out is large. I also ask you to bring your favorite wash and wax products as well as wash mitts, sponges, soap, buckets, etc. For those of you interested, I will try to setup a package buy with the Wal-Mart across my house. You should be able to walk into the store and just find the pre-established "S2000 Care Package". Again, I will set this up only if there's an interest in it.
I will go over basics with the large group as well as have one-on-one's with the individuals and the specific choice of products you bring (yes, each brand has its in's and out's).
What: UMW Tech Session 1: Detail Day--The Basics.
When: Saturday, April 2. 2005. Starting at 10AM.
Where: Algonquin (Luder's house and tentative on the size of the group), IL
Who: Any UMW S2000 owner
Price: $0 (please bring your supplies for the day...I will have the grill going as well, so please bring food you'd like to eat and share).

You and your wife's kabobs are a staple to the UMW. BTW, I'm interested in putting together a dinner meet at the restaurant, who do I need to talk to?
