I think the S2000 hits the limiter at 93/94mph in thrid, so with a 4.57 you'd be looking at 83mph which is probably more inline with a 2.0 litre engine despite the extra revs.
Will be very interested to hear how you guys get on, in particular with gear whine or no whine It's definitely a modification on my list.

Here's the official gears thread: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/669...-gears-thread/
The most important chart there is this one - distance vs time - you gain an advantage at low speeds (<40) from the shorter FD but there's not much advantage once you're up and running as you will be slower through some speed differences than with the longer FD.

This mod does not add power, I think I would have a 4.4 na but I would up the revs to 9.2k to negate the disadvantages.
You also need to alter your speedo with a yellow box etc.
There are swings and roundabouts to this mod.
I previously had 4.57r gears.

Are the speed sensors not on the front wheels? Why would changing the final drive effect your speedo?
I like the idea but the higher revs when motorwaying in 6th will put me off I think.

Speed sensor is in the gear box, so like fitting smaller wheels there will be a difference.
I agree would love one for the trackdays but don't want the higher revs on the motorway either!
