I just installed a set in my new to me (second) ap1 (2003). The passenger side install requires that you locate the square holes in the cross frame. Best way to do that is to place the bracket on the front part of the mat in the car and you will see where the holes are going to be. They are located near the front edge of the cross member, not in the middle. I cut flaps, installed the supplied plastic screw receivers in each hole and then I just laid the brackets on top of the carpet with the flap under the bracket and screwed the brackets down. That holds the carpet flaps in place and works fine. On the door side of the passenger mat there is a fairly large round hole in the cross member which you can mistake for smaller square hole fairly easily as you are probing around. Just remember the square hole is right near the front edge of the cross member, (the big round hole is more in the middle front to back but near the square hole). The drivers side has existing bracket and slits in the carpet. You just have to cut a flap to expose the bracket screw down location, remove the old brackets, and then use the old screw to fasten the new supplied brackets over the carpet flaps in to the existing plastic screw receiver.

Great mats. I bought a spare set in case they are not available down the road. But, I expect these will last a good 10 years of summer fair weather driving.

I'll post a few pictures showing the ap1 passenger side installation holes. Its not hard once you find them. But, its a little hard to find them.

It may be the exchange rate - we haven't changed our prices for quite a few months now.

Alas I no longer work for HendyPerformance - your best bet is to email them directly on eshop@hendy-group.com.

At this time I am not able to supply the S2000 mats - the margins where so small at this price I wouldn't be able to buy them to be competitive to make a profit to make it viable!

I got this reply...

"Sadly we are no longer offering discount for the S2000 mats. The cost prices have risen sharply since they are bought in from Japan. Import costs seem to have rocketed since Covid and Brexit have been on the scene.

The current cost will be £211.95 inc vat and UK mainland shipping. We do have a set in stock ready to go.We have a few sets in stock both red and black. I suspect that it will be the final run of them going forward.

To get any sort of discount from Honda we need to order in batches of 10+ and generally the feeling is that they are quite expensive.

They are made to order for us but based on the costs I don’t think we will be putting in another order.

If there is any interest in clearing the last few sets I can make them £200.00 inc vat and delivery just to move them on?"

HTH.

Final update from me on this;

There are 14 black and 14 red mats sets left available at £172.00 per set inc vat and delivery (UK mainland only).

If you drop Nick an email at NGodding@hendy-group.com he will sort you out

They have offered them to me to buy up all the LHD ones - but the shipping costs to the USA have increased and I don't know if its worth it!
