good enough for me ... I will give them a try I think as I am due a tyre change

Dixon ... 18000 - 20000 miles are you sure?
I think you should budget 6000 miles for the rears if you drive hard, that is all I got out of my RE01Rs with no track days and only one air field day.

HTH

PS this will be far better than any other tyre currenly on offer in the UK for road conditions

PPS Lovegroova, change your wheels to 17" if you are concerned about weight get volks, as these tyres will give you a massive improvement, which will far overcome any weight disadvantage on track.

How can comparing them with another tyre determine a guessed mileage of 6000 miles? ... especially against the opinion of the manufacturers claim of 18000 to 20000 depending on driver ...?

I asked if Dixon was sure because if true that is a phenomenal amount of miles, and even at around 500 for tyres that represents amazing value, even without the performance increase.

If you want an honest answer, nobody can give you the miles expected from this tyre as no one has used them on UK roads on the S2000. I am willing to wage money if you drive hard that is about what you can expect out of the rears, I have alot of experience with tires to include the AD07 which was Yokohamas previous incarnation. The reason these tires are so good is the softer compound in use similar to the RE01R, RE070 (Fitted to FD2's, Sti etc) and the RE11. Everyone has different driving styles and the OEM tyres on my car when I bought it has lasted over 17,000 miles and still had 4mm left and that was on MZ's. If you drive hard you can expect 6-8000 from the rears, better to be warned and anything more is a bonus. There is no way Yokohama has any data to support tyre where of this tyre on an S2000 in the UK IMO.

either way you will never see 18-20K miles out of them thats for sure unless you drive like miss daisy

We also have a customer with an E46 M3 running 18 inch wheels, nitrons suspension and on ad08 as well, i think that is the closest thing like s2000 but heavier, he already did 5000 road miles plus 2 brands hatch and 1 Bedford everytime when he came back from the track we just couldn't understand why there wasn't any wear on the tyres. I was there once with him at brands and I really did push hard on it.

Those tyres just last forever, I thought it's only gonna last around 8k miles max Inc track and road use. So I can sell them another set of tyres again...lol and I am still waiting for them to finish it!!!

I do believe they can last 18-20k miles if it's only using it on the road or 14k miles ish if you really do push it. Advan claims they have different compound compare to ad07 and you can't really compare to bridgestone, re01r and re070 are both hybrid compound with semi slick side wall and road compound in the middle.

yep and me!
I priced these up on event tyres and they can do them for the same price as you quoted at the outset, so ....

I wonder if you could do them for say ... £500 delivered?

I think that's just slightly over 10% discount ?

Yep, as I thought
I was keeping up with the 17" brigade yesterday, so I'll leave it for now.
