Yokohama AD08R Tyres - 215/45/17 & 255/40/17
Hi All
I bought myself some trackday tires a few weeks ago with the plan on being on track often but unfortunately I think this year the car is going to be sitting in the garage as I have a few new commitments that I have to concentrate on, plus the wife is a little bit annoyed because they take up quite a lot of space in the garage.
They are new and unused, still got their stickers on etc.
I've got 4 of each:
- 215/45/17
- 255/40/17
215/45/17 £95 each
255/40/17 £108 each
If anyone buys a pair or a set then I'll cover the delivery charge because I'd rather them out of the way now otherwise I'll be soon sleeping in my car
Thanks

Hi Joe
Thanks for the quick reply. Shame, I'd hoped it was a typo. I'm going to stick with 245 AD08Rs as I've found them the best tyre I've ever used on the car. What advantage is there in fitting 255s?

Larger tires mean increased corner ability at the cost of lower speeds and acceleration due to higher rolling resistance. Every track is different and every car is different. On some courses with some cars, wider tires are better because you pick up more time cornering than you lose in acceleration due to rolling resistance. On other tracks, the opposite is true.
Hi Phil
As per above.
The weight of the 245 tire is slightly lighter than lets say a 255 however I found better stability with 255, it might be due to preference.
A bit of info on this thread, ignore the alloy width comments.
