Description:
Firstly let me start off by saying I will get some better photos as soon as we get some dry weather! I bought the car from a friend and fellow S2ki forum member (Simonix). He owned the car for 4 years in which it has had a few nice modifications and plenty of money spent on maintenance. There are a few blemishes on the car which let the cars overall bodywork condition down. The car was subject to a rear end prang which ended up with it being a Cat C write off. Obviously it has been repaired and been on the road in which it was VIC checked 24th April 2010. I expect this to put most people off but structurally the car is very good. All suspension arms and bushes are fine and can be adjusted which is a common fault for the S2000’s affecting the geometry. It is obviously an aggressive looking car and gets noticed on the road. In the summer with the hardtop off it is truly an amazing experience. This truly has to be driven to be appreciated.
Modifications:
Body/ Exterior: Smoothed front bumper with OEM lip Vielside rear spoiler OEM Hardtop Window tints Front and rear light tint
Wheels, Suspension and Braking: 17” Advan SA3R Meister R adjustable coilovers Fully polybushed (these were seized and now sorted, common problem on S2000’s) Uprated brake fluid
Exhaust/ Engine: Berk Decat Aftermarket air filter Polished detailing I.e. hosing’s and fitting in engine bay Bonnet struts
Interior: Pioneer MP3 Headunit Polished gear knob Extended wind deflector Red leather centre console Aftermarket speakers and tweeters
Things to consider that have been maintained with this car: ·
The car has some Service History ·
12 Months MOT
6 Months TAX
Engine oil always checked meticulously with oil changed every 4k miles.
Car has had a new roof with facelift rear glass
Clutch has been changed within 8k miles (receipts to prove)
Rear brake discs and pads have been changed within the last week
Mechanically the car drives extremely well
Negatives: Large crack on perimeter of windscreen. (This may get sorted prior to sale depending if insurance can get a replacement in time) Have been told this isn’t an MOT failure as it doesn’t obscure any vision however in my opinion needs changing. Couple of small scratches as with every other used car. Both rear arches have common Honda rust. Rear boot lid has oxidised and is off colour. Stone chips on front bumper and a few on bonnet. Few small scratches to hardtop. Alloys have corroded and would need a refurb. Airbag light is on. Mechanically absolutely faultless. With about £300 invested at a bodyshop this car would look fantastic. In present condition it is a bit tatty. I like to be as honest as possible but the price reflects this. I cannot find an S2000 even with previous accident history at this price let alone with free suspension arms, coilovers and hardtop. The car is worth more broken but it is a shame to break such a solid mechanical and structural car.
With all the modifications and the fact that the clutch, roof and suspension bushes have been changed this S2000 is very well priced. I’m not willing to negotiate on price or want any swaps or part exchanges. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive.
Unless you can provide proof of full insurance on the car, I’ll be taking the test drive. I'm happy to Skype or Facetime call for a quick view of the car. Obviously would need to arrange a time for this with me personally. I’m in absolutely no rush to sell the car. I’d rather not part it out. This is a fantastic car for someone wanting a mechanically sound S2000 that needs a bit of attention to the rear arches.
