Default Zymol

Wow...I am impressed....

I have gradually built up at least 5 applications of the Zymol stuff you can get in Halfords....I used the car to go out for some action on Sunday afternoon and the Monday commute...all of which was in wet conditions

I shoved the car back in the garage come Monday evening.....when I went in the garage the following day and ran my hand across the upper surfaces of the car it was as if the car had never been out, let alone in the wet

I am now a Zymol convert...excllent stuff

How does Zymol compare with Supaguard?

AFAIAA, Supaguard is intended to be more of a protector against stonechips and bird crap. Zymol is like Zaino - it will give a waxed coat to a very high level of shine and will also help against rain and so on.

Forgive my general ignorance/muppetness, but can you apply Zymol on top of Supaguard? Will Zymol ruin the Supaguard?

No, Zymol can be applied quite safely on top of Supaguard. Ditto for any other type of polish/wax too, as far as I know.

Within reason Mark - the Halfords liquid Zymol is a polish which by its nature means it has a slight abrasive action, the same goes for Zymol's HD Cleanse hence its ability to shift mild hazing/oxidation. Some polishes (notably Autoglym Super Resin Polish) can be quite abrasive if applied with too great a pressure. The net upshot of this is that those few molecules of Supaguard etc. could be stripped from a paint finish if a polish is used with too much vigour.

My advice? Stick with a pure carnuba wax (Zymol solid glazes, P21s etc.) or a synthetic surface galze such as Zaino.

Without being a pain, I thought the Zymol Halfords sold was just Autoglym repackaged?
