I use the halfords stuff to remove the harder specs or if there are minor scratches then the Zymol HD cleanse seems to remove them nicely.
Final coat either Zymol and then P21S as it seems to set harder and last longer.

I use to use Autoglym and was pleased generally with the results.
I have recently tried Zaino and I would say that the first coat of polish from Zaino was equivalent to the Auto glym finished effect, however, the sbsequent coats of Zaino make a big difference and it is definately better.
However, the main thing for me is NO WHITE RESIDUE, this is a big
Harder work, but as Fletch said, you get out what you put in.

Here's a thought. I normally only put one coat of AG polish on. Is it wise to ut a 1st coat on, treat as one should, and then apply a 2nd? (all in one washing /polishing session)
Does this give any better results?

Are you using Autoglym polish or Super Resin protection (or some name along those lines) ?
The polish should only be used as part of the cleaning process. It's abrasive, and will remove any surface imperfections and worn in dirt. But repeated applications will take off the paint.
Wash and dry the car. Only use the polish if the paintwork is in a poor state. Then use the resin stuff like you would wax. Put it on the car. Leave it for an hour to dry. Buff it. Put as many coats as you like on like that

Advantages of using zaino:
- no residue
- unbeatable protection
- mirror finish shine
- can be layered to produce wet look
Disadvantages:
- a fair bit of prep work with first application (you would need to do this with any polish or wax)
- time consuming if done properly
- addictive...you like the shine and then you add another coat and it gets better and then you keep adding more layers until you can't see straight!
- get ridiculed on the board

^ That's a pic of your car, not the garage door. I think that needs pointing out AB
Oh and it isnt the Zaino your ridiculed for - it is your:
carpeted garage
fear of rain
fear of taking the S anywhere
doing 1200 miles a year
oh and ZAINOING THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR too
