Having seen this on the drive for about 3 months now and having driven it for 2 days I can confirm that for a motorway cruiser, it's excellent.
In comparison to the S for twisities and fun

Having driven a 3.0 manual my final thoughts on the handling/suspension is that it didn't feel as lithe or as nimble as the S. It may well be as good (ie as quick) but it certainly doesn't feel it. The front end wants to wash out, and the throttle doesn't bring the rear end around quite as sweetly.
Which sums up to agreeing with everyone above. It's a good motorway cruiser, but I'd take the S any day.

1) which means the peak of my baseball cap hits the top of the windscreen.
2) There is a lack of storage space in the interior compared to the S

2) Given that the S has no meaningful storage space, I can only assume that - in order to have even less - the Z4 has moulded plastic protrusions needlessly taking up cabin space - effectively making 'negative' storgage
Just teasing - nice review

1) Ahem nope!! I'm about 5ft 8 with long legs! I just couldn't see over the bonnet unless I put the seat up - not forward. It's not that I'm close to the steering wheel, it's just that I'm high up in the car
2) The S has lots more storage than the Z4 - it has one little storage compartment, that's it. That contains the DVD for the sat nav, and 2 shelves - each just big enough to skin your knuckles on. And an open cubby hole behind the seat. If there's any more I couldn't find it
and yes I know
