I'd like to start by saying Admiral Insurance are crap.

This is my opinion only.

The S was hit in August by some Dutch muppet in his own left hooker.

Damage was minimal but I claimed, it was his bloody fault.

Since then Admiral have not once pulled their finger out of their arse.

I've lost count of the number of phonecalls made and letters written.

Eventually get a letter saying the claim will not affect my no claims discount.

Renewal comes through yesterday and guess what?

As opposed to the expected 4 years no claim bonus I have 1 year.

Happy? I don't think so.

Call the renewal hotline and get to speak to some bint in South Africa who hasn't a clue.

Have to wait now until tomorrow to speak to someone in the claims department.

Anyone have the contact details for the Motor Insurance Ombudsman please?

The bastards are happy to keep taking my cash but will not provide the service when call upon.

This really cakes me off.

My advice; do not use Admiral becaause it only leads to heart ache (well in my case anyway).

Mods if this is out of order in anyway then please edit as required.

I am only expressing my opinion based on my experience (does that cover me enough?).

It's not just Admiral, I had the same sort of problems with Adrian Flux. I was stationary in my clio willimas (no comments please) and someone slammed into the back of me. Obviously his fault. His insurance company paid no problem. Came to renewal and no claims suspended for 12 months as thats how long the other party has to claim against me. I couldn't believe it. How could it be my fault when i was stationary in traffic. Bloody idiots, all just in my opinion of course. Rant over

Think the insurance thread needs an addition to it.

How crap are your insurance company in dealing with claims.

I'd rather pay a bit more and know I'll receive a good service.

I don't enjoy paying for crap!

Unfortunately Insurance companies don't like to pay out. But you shouldn't have to go through the hassle you have.

Get onto the ombudsman ASAP. Your problem will be sorted with 2 weeks I am sure. I had a problem with my gas supplier. Similar to you I was getting no joy with phone calls/e-mails. Matter sorted within 2 weeks when I complained to the ombudsman.

More people should get onto the ombudsman IMO. We pay for them, so we should use them.
