Default Yet another wheel question

I know they get boring but I would rather get opinions from people who have the experience, I'm always a little reluctant to believe what I read on the American boards. I have spend a few hours trawling through the various wheel threads and have decided that I want to keep my wheels staggered. I saw some Superleggeras for sale a few weeks ago, they were 17x8 ET40 and 17x9 ET45.

As I am due to have my arches replaced in the next few weeks I wasn't sure how much work these would require to get them to fit or whether I should just hold out for some with a higher offset. I don't want to go down the road of massive camber to get the wheels to fit, or have rubbing issues.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You'll need to roll the arches and adjust the camber. If you want wheels which wont adversely affect the car's handling, go for at least ET48 on the front and 50 on rears. Arch work will inevitably result in rust.

This is why I'm having them replaced, someone decided to take to them with a roller and no patience. The paint split and panels warped and now they are rusting. I'll hold out for some better fitment wheels then I think.

Rolling arches as long as you rust treat it id seal the lip at the top with silicone so water doesn't lay in the arch and rust, Am not the best with sizes etc they dont seem that bad, i was going to fit 17x9.5 et30 front and et30 rear thats a lot of work and not worth the hassle lol
Finding the right offset is a mission,

Iv got a set of rims for sale correct offset etc

You will NEVER get those to fit on the front

OP seeing as you're having the work done anyway then you may as well have them rolled and sealed/treated properly. Then you at least have a wider choice of wheels etc.

For those wheels to fit you'll definitely need to roll the fronts and backs but you won't need to pull them as well but as all that work is being done its not much more to get it all done at the same time. I have 18x8+35 fronts and 18x9+38 rears but have fully rolled and pulled arches with a bumper tab relocation and the whole works to a very high standard. I have no rubbing at all and have kept the rolling radius of my tyres as close to OEM 17" wheels as I could.

As you can see here ET30 all round on a 9.5 wheels so NEVER is now possible with some work be positive dude.I always look at the possible rather than the never,

The trouble is the hunt for a deep concave wheel is only really on rubbish offsets

Ps floppy did you get my email bud did you make sense of it or?

Dave, me and Floppy know how much work is needed to fit wheels with these sorts of offset. so the use of NEVER is more a shortened versions of "you are never going to get those to fit in a way that wont cost you a fortune and require too much work to make them fit"

Surfer, have a look for something around 17x8 and 17x9 ET45 for a nice fit all round that wont take too much work, a roll on the arches will do this (with bumper tab relocation)

if you need any advice give me a message, always happy to help out a CRX-UK member.

This is exactly what I meant! Whaninoz has 17x9 et35 on the front of his and you need at least an extra inch of arch width that doesn't exist to make them fit.

As Whaninoz said, you can get them to fit but NEVER without epic amounts of work and money thrown at the car
