X-Brace (Muz/Whiteline)
#13
My Whiteline brace went on no problem. I had the Spoon brace before that but swapped because I believe the Whiteline is a better design.
One thing I would suggest is jacking the car up rather then using a pit. On the pit you are supporting the weight with the wheels so there is a a better possibility of flex (causing misalignment).

As AusS2000 said you should have the wheels off the ground when fitting. There are more likely to be very slight variations from car to car than brace to brace but the item is designed to be a tight fit in any event.
Try loosening surrounding bolts if you are having problems. You also have to get the brace on the correct angle when inserting the cups (ends). I used a hoist, loosened surrounding bolts and just tapped it into place lightly with a rubber mallet before inserting the bolts. It's a little bit of a fiddly install for some but well worth the effort and very satisfying to drive with once done.
The one thing you don't want is a loosely fitting x-brace.
I saw somebody state that the brace was designed around oil drain clearance. This couldn't be further from the truth. The manufacturer has provided for lateral as well as diagonal bracing with this design. The oil drain plug clearance is just the icing on the cake.
