Sounds like it needs some adjusting done, mine is solid as a house when it's on!

Good to know there is a fix. What should I be adjusting though?

For me, this was the reason for purchasing the GT model. There are too many areas of the UK where a soft-top is just too inviting to <insert suitable derogatory terms>.
Unfortunately, without help (or a hoist), the hard-top is just too big and difficult, or too risky, to fit and remove - although I've done it alone a few time.

It creaks because you haven't greased the rubber seals that locate against the car. You may also find that the HT needs adjusting so that it clamps down properly.

Thanks for that. Will rub some Shin Etsu on the rubbers before installing next time (last winter it was put on in a rush and I forgot to have the Shin Etsu handy).

But where and how can I adjust the HT to make it clamp down better? I agree its probably not 'done up' properly as at speed there is more wind noise with it on, in particular a whistle seemingly coming from where it rests on the windscreen frame.

If you look in the FAQ ( go gaspode ) there is a section on how to adjust it - it's not a 5 minute job though. You may need to grease ALL the rubber seals including the one between the roof frame and the HT.

We have 2xS in the household, one with a hardtop and one naked. Guess which one gets used when its a nice winter's day

I bought mine as it was a 2 seater convertible, which is why despite having had the option to GT-ise it I have declined.

The Orange One will be reunited with it's hardtop apres Italy trip .... as clearly sans roof is required for Euro-hooning.

Worth it in what way? Other than appearance, what is the benefit of putting it on, other than removing the option of having the roof down? If you you're thinking about security, then thats not related to weather or time of year......

I get the impression that the benefit is the extra space you get in the spare room, rather than a benefit from having it on the car!

Yes, I don't have one.....
Buy mine?
