The worst rattle ever
In my ongoing quest to have a completely rattle free skip another monster of a rattle has just reared its ugly head within the past few days
This one seems to be BEHIND the dash, infront of the passenger seat about 5 inches below the airbag cover in line with the side of the passenger seat! When I push down on that section of the dash it stops but it really sounds like a couple of mini spanners are juggling around behind there, something seems to be broken and I dont know how to get behind there
Any pointers appreciated please?

There's a removable panel on the lower surface - put gloves on to push the clips out from behind, otherwise you'll cut your fingers or break the panel if you try to yank it off.
It's usually a wiring loom rattling, especially if there are speaker upgrades/anti-Gov't devices fitted.

Just had a good rummage around behind the dash, im stumped as the area where the rattle seems to be coming from is pretty much completely hollow withall the aircon/airbag components well back behind foam padding
Unless the rattling component is higher up and therefore I need the services of someone with much smaller hands then me...
*goes off to see what the wench is upto tonight...*
Any other ideas keep em coming please guys

I'll have a hunt, but are you sure it's coming from behind the dash?
The S is a real bugger when it comes to tracking down rattles. You really need a passenger to track them down while you drive.

I had a bit of grit bounce off my head, on top the dash and down the gap between the windscreen and dash.
It rattled for a bit, then stopped and I forgot about it. It's now back again and I need some tweezers to get it out.
Could be something similar?

I have a similar problem and it seems to be coming from the same area.
You describe yours as being like the sound of small spanners but mines more of a vibration. And its there when I'm going over bumpy roads or in low revs and high gears. (Already had the 'drive high revs and low gears' suggestion thanks )
Annoys the hell out of me so I wouldn't mind other suggestions as to what it could be either.
Tried the bonnet latch, tightening the screws on the side of the dash and checked the rear view mirror as suggested in FAQ and by some on my previous post.
