Apparently her mate told her that she thought in a straight competition of what bodywork i'd rather rub down in my free time i'd sort the s2k out then my girlfriend - aren't their 'friends' helpful!!
I would love to get the girlfriend to drive the s2k but she's only just 22 and her (brand new) car has so many little knocks already i'd be bricking it if she took it out (if I could or wanted to get her insured)!

Turn the question around by saying why should I have to choose? If she says 'to prove you love me', then she's answered her own question - ditch her. There should be enough space in your life for women and cars in moderation. You should be able to be objective enough to work out whether you are being obsessive with your car, and if you are, ease off a bit, there's no need to actually ditch the car.

This is one of them womens questions that doesn't have an answer. If your immediate answer was "why you of course" then that would have raised questions like "you are only saying it to make me happy" (which she'd be right of course) or "you have another women don't you"
I just dunno, was she expecting "why you of course and just to prove my undying love to you I am going to sell the car and buy you a big fat diamond ring with the money from the sale"
good luck mate

Women like a challenge. Trying to get you to choose her over the car is a game. If you don't get rid of the car, she'll still be there because there is still an unfinished challenge. If you do get rid of the car, she may end up leaving because there is no more challenge to keep her busy!

My situation is slightly reversed. My fiancee went off with another bloke and I got to get an S.
HURRAH!
The payments on the S equal what she used to sponge off me each month. Now, any girl has to understand that there is a symbolic identity with the S and I love it to pieces.
Qu. from a girl "Me or the S?"
Ans. "If you have to ask you know the answer already"
(But I do applaud Ade's respect for Jude )
