Default Windscreen surround

Removing the black tape from around the screen.

Good idea? Or not?

I notice a lot of car's don't seem to have the black tape and instead are colour coded. Did Honda change this on later models?

TIA

Later cars didnt have it, pretty straight forward to remove, just depends on which look you prefer.

Definately looks better with the roof down.
I guess its black to blend in when the roof is up.

Are there any nasty surprises underneath the sticker or is the paint as good as the rest of the car?

Should be as good as the rest of the car, use whatever you prefer to take the remaining adhesive off then give it a wash and wax.

I prefer it with the black surround.

I thought about this and then thought it could be dangerous as it has been on for 6 years!

Prefer the black anyway I think

All MK1's had black tape, all US cars do.

All Mk1 GT's and +02 UK cars have no tape.

It is easy to remove but a bit of a gamble as the paint quality underneath can be a bit iffy.

James - that's why I left it on on your car
