Windscreen Replacement

As the other say get a pilkington one and the correct seals.
To be fair, I've heard good and bad things about Autoglass, they vary but never had a problem when mine was fitted by Autoglass and this was around 5-6 years ago.

OK so i had the screen fitted today
new screen and surround/trim both from Pilkington and fit and look great.
Downside was when removing the scuttle panel they have cracked it in the centre. bonus being they have ordered a brand new one from Honda and will come back to fit it in a couple of days.
Screen already had the mirror mount fitted to it and there is no rattling from the mirror at all

Autoglass did mine no worries.
1. Phone insurance, say windscreen is chipped.
2. Man comes out and swaps glass
3. windscreen is no longer chipped.
I didn't give it any thought at all as at the end of the day its swapping a bit of glass out, not rocket science and if they balls it up just rage at them until its fixed? heh
Sounds like its sorted though

I know....
What's the big secret with the supplier?
Two pages and you still never said who did the work.
If you are recommending them, post them up for others to enjoy

I think you’re always going to be at the mercy of the fitter. No doubt some are good and some are bad regardless of the company they work for…
My mum had a replacement windscreen fitted on her Jazz (AUTOGLASS). The fitter dropped a tool in the engine bay which lodged itself in-between one of the belts causing damage to the engine (he didn’t tell my mum he had dropped the tool, she found out when driving home). He also scratched the dash.
I had a replacement windscreen fitted on my old LCR (NATIONAL WINDSCREENS). The fitter slipped with his tool and badly scratched the paint on the a-pillar. Fortunately I noticed before he left and National Windscreen Paid for the respray work.
