Windscreen Replacement :(

Windscreen Replacement :(
So in much less time than I predicted into ownership, a stone hit my windscreen this morning on the way in creating a nice 5 pence diameter crack in the screen. I think this could be repaired with the resin they use, but the crack is unsightly so a part of me wants to just get a new screen.
Whenever I have got replacement screens in the past, the cowboys that the insurance send to come and do it always get the screen sealant on bits of the interior trim etc. So this is what is making me think I should just go for a resin repair. If I go for a new screen are there any other pitfalls I should watch out for when the guy is doing the work? Usually I leave them to it but I care about this car so will be watching over the guy like a hawk if I get it replaced. Thanks in advance.

I've had two fitted and the Autoglass guys have done a good job.
The tricky part is the rear view mirror - last time, the fitter doing mine called his mate to assist, and they were both extremely helpful indeed.

That's who my insurance company sent in october to do my golf, the guy got sealant on the interior trim and then tried saying it was already there. I guess I'll just have to hope a decent guy comes if I go that way.

Call them up and they'll ask you about the chip and will tell you if they can repair it. as DD says, a repair will be cheap or free depending on your insurer.
I always stay with the car and watch them do their work, they tend to take much more care that way. Same with tyre changes.
