If the windscreen is cracked in the drivers line of sight it's an MOT failure and an Insured Replacement.
If the windscreen is cracked it's an Insured Replacement.
If the windscreen is chipped and affects the drivers vision it's an MOT failure and an Insured Repair, if irreparable an Insured Replacement.
If the windscreen is chipped and simply annoys you and doesn't affect the drivers vision it Non Insured Repair/Replacement.

I just asked them to replace mine as it was chipped and they did, just charged me

I had a crack in the centre of the windscreen of my Mazda and it went in for some warranty work on the bodywork. It needed a respray and a bake in the oven so they replaced the windscreen FOC cos they thought the baking process had caused a stone chip to crack the screen!

I have had the twats at Taunton Autoglass replace mine last month.
its been back THREE times and Im still not sure the seal is quite right but have had enough of those incompetant fools.
If you dont need glass then DONT force the issue is my opinion.
Windscreen replacement is a LOTTERY, just ask on here.

Especially since mine gets through them as fast as tyres.
