Hi boys and girls.
I am Maz, I am in the process is of getting my second S2000. To make it financially possible, I went for an UKDM 09 S2000 with a damaged bottom end. The top end is thankfully it in excellent working order. I am looking at a bottom end off a 2001 JDM engine to fit into the car, can I maintain the original UKDM ECU. It would be a bottom end swap.

The ECU is programmed to run a car with drive by wire, so probably not.

but if he's only using the short block (bottom end) would that make a difference?

The crank timing sensor with trigger wheel and maybe also knock sensor needs to be swapped but other than that I think it should work.

also do the JDM engines (F20C) not run at a little higher compression to the UK engines (F20C2) and using the right fuel make 250ps instead of the UKDM 240 so would that have any knock on effect with the rest of the engine?
