Default Will an AEM v2 throw a EML?

Hi chaps...

As per the thread title.... and on fitting the bypass valve to prevent Hydrolock, is there an slight drop in bhp? What bhp difference is it anyway with the AEM v2?
Thanks in advance
T

No and yes in that order.

I wouldn't bother with the bypass valve, there are other measures you can take to reduce the probability of hydrolock.

Would it be correct to say about 3-5 bhp more? I'm glad it won't activate the Engine Management Light, i wasn't sure but thanks for answering.

Yep, it's called avoiding driving through rivers in your car.

Seriously now, you really would have to drive through a river to hydrolock, even with a low mounted intake.

Tony, there is a hole directly over the top of where the cone filter would be positioned under the bonnet, it is a drainage hole, I blocked this with some sticky black gunk. I have run my car with the AEM on for 3+ years through all kinds of torrents, Dave Blurter before me for several years through even worse kinds of European torrents. I have heard it said the bypass valve you speak of interferes with the characteristic sound and because I believe as Ron and LTB perhaps does that hydrolock can be avoided I wouldn't attach the valve.

Regarding BHP it's hard to quantify, I would say if I were to drag race with another standard S, we would be at the same point approx the same time, so not necessarily a huge improvement, however where you do notice it from stock is between 3-6k rpm, the car is a little more responsive to the throttle here than a stock S, just where you need it actually, especially if you wish to drift

Oh and I have never had an EML due to the CAI
