Pfeds - I think it was your post on CRX-UK that got me looking at S2000's this time around! How do you find it compares to the CRX in terms of the smile factor?

Sounds like an import might not be too bad, I guess the fact they are already a group 20 insurance means it cant go much higher anyway.

I will keep doing my homework on here and then have a look around for good examples.
You can't really compare a CRX to an S. They're completely different animals. The S is more refined, rwd, convertible, and more powerful. On the other hand the CRX has that go-kart feel, is very "chuckable", and far more forgiving. I still love the CRX for completely different reasons to the S.

As for buying JDM - they're cheaper, more powerful, and likely to be in better condition (such as bushes + bolts etc). I'm paying about

An 02 with 60k for that price... well worth it!
AND the best and fastest colour!!!!

Also, its obviously been very well looked after and owned by 2 members here. MUCH better than buying from any Joe Bloggs or a dealer!

I owned a MkII CRX-VT for nearly 9 years before switching to a CTR and then the S2000.

I have a full service history. Well I don't, but the missing bits are from its time in the UK. I have the full japanese service history; it's just a bit hard to understand.

The UK cars have a factory cat 1 alarm, whereas imports don't unless an aftermarket one is fitted.
They have to at least have a CAT 2 on import, but most JDMs will have been fitted with an aftermarket CAT1 alarm (just factor it into the cost if not), and if you do a search on all the problems people have with the standard Honda UK POS alarm, that can only be good.

You also get better non-leather seats in the JDM.

There's nothing chavvy about a CRX VT It's a far superior car than anything chav like, such as a Nova, Clio, Scooby, FT... no hold on, I owned an FTO... there's nothing chavvy about FTOs either... well there wasn't when I had one back in 2000
