My take on it is that when the air is cooler, it is denser, therefore more oxygen per litre of air. That means the air / fuel mix is better.

Possible heat soak, shitty fuel? only use shell optimax or 99 ron fuel. Oil change maybe? and check your filters and spark plugs.

I have found air con on makes quite a big difference to normal driving, it doesn't seem as eager as when it is off. Thats on both my Hondas.

Also inlet temps, if you can see what they are at it may also give you an idea. I have a obd2 bluetooth plug in and an app on my phone and the air temps do get high quite quickly when stationary.

That said I did a autosolo in my ep3 and it was a very hot day, inlet temps were high 60 degrees Celsius until I accelerated and the airflow increased quite alot. It didnt seem to be slowed down by the temps though.

is the bottom line the fact is , it has a fairly high state of tune and is therefore sensitive to all external infulneces, temp , humidity , etc etc. A bit like beautiful woman !

I have certianly notice the charges changes almost day to day, and this over 13 years of ownership, and it certianly prefers cold wet days rather than hot dry days.

You probably need a new engine - get saving

It happens to all of us pal, Cool late night jaunts with the roof down are the best - it all comes together and is fantastic.

The answer is on the forum & talked about many times. Fit a cold air intake or snorkel, what ever your preference. Everyone will have their own likes & dislikes, I wanted to keep the OEM air box & filter and I wasn't bothered about louder induction noise so the snorkel worked for me. Other people have different wants so they replace the air box & filter with a cold air intake. I am very pleased with mine and a noticeable increase in response even in temperatures of over 40°C
