Default Why coilovers?

Im thinking of lowering my S, now im thinking of either the coilovers or for example koni and springs.

I have seen a few resonably priced from the US, inc buddyclub n+ and megan.

Why would you choose coilovers as opposed to koni + springs???

I dont want to spend too much. I'm more after a dropped look as long as it wont effect the handling, will it have a negative effect handling or possibly improve?

I'm not that clued up on suspension stuff.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't car about handling too much, koni+springs. The best thing about coil overs is being able to corner balance the car to distribute the weight properly. Also you are getting a properly matched spring / damper setup.

Mark, my stock suspension is getting lazy after a discussion and talk with my friend due to the miles they have covered and roads i drive on.

Im going to replace them and for the price well a little bit more of getting stock shocks and springs (poss 2nd hand shocks and eibach springs i would go for as there close to stock spring rates), i could stretch to some coilovers .

The ones in my budget are buddyclub and megan ones. Failing that koni shocks with eibachs.

These will be better than stock suspension with springs.

Problem is im not too clued up on suspension i am trying.

Ultimately if its better handling??? ill be happy, dont want to be bashed about though

And you know me mark i like to do my research before buying, remember the spoon threads? :: - i was happy i did my research

In the six years I've been an s2ki member I've spent some time on the US forums. There are about a dozen people whose opinion I value, the rest talk twaddle
