Just for totally pointless info, my passat is impossible to drive with the handbrake on as its disengages when your in 1st gear (or reverse) and you let the clutch out.. clever germans!! Mind u, its is a button not a lever!! And is missing 100bhp compared to my S2k!

Guess that must be a hydraulic handbrake, the S works with wires so I guess it be a bit trickier to do.

I tried this on my MY04 today, sure enough it beeped with the handbrake on one notch, but the roof (which was down) was going to come up
I thought that was a great tip but it appears my car isn't going to play ball.
