Default whoops

Oh dear ,
At a junction in a rush to get the roof down i forgot to release the handbrake and drove about 3 miles with it on. Apart from the smell which was what alerted me to the problem, am i likely to have done any damage?

Check for scoring on your back discs, id imagine it would of heated up the wheels to some high temps could of caused some probs -cant think of it doing that much damage suince you only drove 3 miles.

I guess some one else will chime in.

Obviously the speed at which you were driving will have some influence...

I think if once you realised and released the handbrake as long as you continued to drive the car while the disks / callipers cooled you 'should' be okay.

One click is all you need on the handbrake to work the roof.

Is it only an 04+ feature that the car beeps at you if you pull away with the handbrake on then?

And yes, I'm an English Language Nazi too, even newsreaders can't get things right these days....

Yeah, easily done.

The Jap tw*ts have put a stupid dinging bell in to warn you if you leave the keys in the ignition, or forget the seatbelts.
Why not give a warning when you make 2mph with the handbrake on?

Chris - my MY05 makes no warning about the handrake, does yours then?
PS it might be better phrased: "Is it only an 04+ feature then, where the car beeps at you..."
