Okay the older engines probably wont be as reliable due to oiljets TB etc etc

But have a look at this, lots of engines earlier engines way above 100k

Nothing much to worry if you don't abuse it. I believe most honda engine will last longer than the onwer's passion towards the car.

My B series engine in my civic is above 230k and is still my daily car. I would love to think that the F series will be more reliable since they would have improved their reliability from then.

Wow that is a great mileage - the B series was a fantastic engine, I've owned a fair few of them over the years

mines @ 82k seems as new ! infact i think its 'quicker' than the newer ones !

I remain of the opinion that much over 100K and you are on borrowed time

you may be lucky - or not

it won't take long before we start to see some worthwhile averaging

I don't anyone said that the older engine wasn't reliable, - I think it was said that the newer engine was just even more reliable.
