I think a lot of the guys that go for 18" find a harsher ride. 17" seem OK.

The merkins say 17" for go, 18" for show.

When I changed wheels / tyres I booked an Academy day so that I could find out how hard I could push them. I prefer the feel of the 17" compared to the 16" but I think that may be more to do with different tyre choice.

Before you all start raiding your piggy banks and getting excited you need to confirm the width on the front and know the width of the rears.
I think you'll find the "off sets" are not going to be suitable for the S.
