Default Where is Permanent Live?

OK I am taking the plunge and trying to install the sub i bought off Frisky myself this weekend. I am all ready to start wiring in the car, and I know where all the wires go, with the exception of permanent live. Where do i find a permanent live connection? I want to avoid going direct to the battery. Is there a permanent live connection which is not fused on the fuse box? Would love a pic to explain if possible

I am clueless, but i have good instructions for the rest

There's a small fusebox, under the dash on the right hand (driver's) side. Which has some spare terminals, both permanent live and live with ignition on. Fat b@stards have a lot of fun standing on their heads in the footwell to get at it!!

Seriously...
I was going to fit a sub until recently and No2 son who's pretty clued up on this stuff reckons the sub should go to the battery. Not sure why?

No mate and I don't know if they're marked. No big deal though.. just trial and error with a spade connector I would think. The other option is just crimp onto a wire under there with a piggy back connector. I'm sure someone here can tell you the colour for a permanent live?

Don't do it Ian - go to the battery. Even the Alpine head units have a wire to connect to the battery.

The PL is I believe the top connection of the three spare male spade connectors in the fusebox, driver foorwell. Not sure how thick these wires are, and what risk of setting your wiring loom on fire if you use them though.

Ian, you'll find photos of the fusebox here:

Please remember that these are in reverse to UK cars.

I agree. Do the job right AE. the only tricky bit is going to be getting the wire through the bulkhead. Once that's done, it'll be easy to hide the wires either under the carpet, or using the side of the transmission tunnel, where the carpet unclips. The clincher is..it'll be easier anyway!

Oh ooh could i just piggy back the PL wire on the HU?
