you CAN'T use suction type camera mount on trackday, it's not allowed, no matter how strong it is, a fixed type mount is needed, i have one replaces the wind deflector, which i think is the best choice.
That is not what I have experience with three different track day organisations, the restriction appears to be NO HAND HELD CAMERAS, devices must be fixed in some way to the car, suction or otherwise.

I guess if they did not like your mount they could ask you to remove it.

. See my previous post. Video evidence. And I had a track marshall in the car at one point, too. Maybe it depends on the track. Definately not allowed is "hand held".

I got this one ....

But, to be honest, it isn't very good unless filming behind as the rear view mirror gets in the way

I have a bike mount that can be mounted on the dash and it does a much better job.

It all depand on your luck or company maybe, for example, in brands hatch, my friend had a suction type and was allowed once, and another time he was told it's not allowed. I have been two different company's trackdays, motosport vsion and bookatrack, both cleared said in the briefing that a suction type mount is not allowed, so maybe the one you went to allows it or you were just lucky, but certainly a lot of them doesnt allow it.

But it's not likely to leave a closed cabin is it?
Maybe its because the roof comes off, the risk is losing it onto the road?
