Default where to get bodywork done?

I need to have a couple of minor 'supermarket' door dents fixed, and a small scrape from a sleeping policeman on my front valance. I was planning to go to my dealer, but am expecting a large bill.

Where else could I go for bodywork - could I go the local 'arches' or shall I stick to main dealers?

I'm in London if anyone can recommend somewhere closeby.

TIA

I've had a small dint in my passenger door taken out by the dealers - a 'smart repair' as they called it. Basically, if the paint isn't damaged, they just do a 'dentmaster' style repair. So, if you've only damage like this, try Dentmaster or similar.

Asif you have to be a bit carefull where paint work is concerned, if they are dents that can be as Brian says will "Dentmaster" out, the work of certain companies are very good but I would only use one that has been recomended as there are good and bad ones.
Actual paint work is even more of a nightmare, bodyshops all say they do a good job (they would, would'nt they) but a definate recomendation by some one who is a fussy owner and has had work themselves done there is a must if you are to use one, if you cannot find that, then at least at a Honda main agent they have supposedly to maintain a high standard of paintwork on new cars or cars for resale.

It is worth paying that bit more for a high quality visible repair.

Also be aware of paint warranty if not done to Honda spec, better off going to Honda approved bodyshop if anything goes wrong you have more chance of involving dealer & Honda

Hi,

I have accumulated central-london parking dents in every panel except the boot over the last year! Here are my 2 experiences with bodywork repairs:

1) AVOID - Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton. Despite being a Honda main dealer, they subcontracted repairs to Hughes Coachwork (somewhere in S London). A JOKE - I'm still negotating with them

2) AVOID- Hurlingham Coachworks, Fulham. Despite being "approved" by most insurance companies, these guys attempted to rectify the work, and it came back even worse. My car is currently with them, and I'm not accepting it back until its PERFECT.

Conclusion:

I haven't found anywhere trustworthy.

I had some electrical work carried out by Guy Salmon, they were brilliant. They charged me 1/2 hour labour. Whereas Curry Motors wanted to charge for 8 hours despite having had the car for 1 week and still not resolving the problem!!!!

Its been said before, but just in case you haven't seen - in most cases parking dings dont result in damage to the paint - just a bloody irritating 'ding'. By far the best (and cheapest) way to deal with these is by DentMaster or similar painless dent removal system. These places typically charge

Hello Mate,

My car goes in this Wednesday for a similar ding cause by the idiots at Tesco. To top it all, the trolley collectors at my local Tesco actual work for a third party so when I approached them for compensation for dinging my car they basically did not give a s***! Tesco said nothing to do with them!

Took it to local dealer, he is getting a dent master company to rectify, would rather do it through main dealer because if the dent master lot cock it up Honda have to repair free of charge!!!! I have been quoted
