White is nice, but I suspect out of my budget.

Deep Burgundy is a very rare and unusually nice colour (I'd take a look as you'll be pleasantly surprised).
Would have bought one myself in that colour but the particular car I looked at had been in an accident; contrary to what the seller was telling me.
Good luck however with whatever you go for.

You have got to see the colour of pie&chips's car.... It is stunning, I am a fan of red cars( my last 5cars being Red) but if you can stretch to it it may be worth looking at his.

I know of an immaculate 57 plate DB that will be coming up for sale in the next month or so -just above your budget mind

It's picky, but of you broaden your search to more than 40k miles, you might find one with 43k on it or something, which admittedly is more than you specified, but still.
There were some small changes along the way to consider, but you're also getting largely the same car with a 2004, as opposed to a 2006, so maybe look at that.
As everyone else has said, it's always right time, right place!

I've started a spreadsheet as I'm getting confused between all the cars I'm looking at I'd be happy with a mint 2004 or 2005. Most on the market with reasonable miles seem to be 2006, which of course means higher road tax, but will be newer of course.
