just what I spent on my coupe
The one with the dodgy driveshaft and suspension designed in pre-war Germany?

I admit it can seem iillogical to heavily modify a car (I've held the same view for quite some time) but intelligent modifying can give you the car that you simply cannot buy off the shelf - know any stock M Coupes with adjustable gas monotube suspension for instance?

not quite what I was getting at.

I was alluding to the fact that I could see the coupe and do that above.

very much doubt I will though.

p.s - it was the crankshaft main bearing.

suspension (as provided by Bilstein and ACSchnitzer) seems fine to me

Well,

A modded S2000 is a far nicer car than a ZM3 coupe (or whatever its called) IMO. infact I would rather have a stock S2000

Not forgetting that once modded would have similar bhp/ton, better handling, better looks and reliability + being unique.

Also there is the unmeasurable joy in building it etc...

Ah! If finally dawns on me, you meant you could sell the coupe and do that. That was very much a tongue in cheek comment though I'd love to 230 bhp at the wheels but that's going to take more work than a I/M/E and ECU upgrade (If anyone manages it do tell, I'll happily buy the parts too ).
