I dont Gaz - the guy i got the mount off is illusive, and i bought a second bracket here, which i need to secure to the mount in the car with said bolt thing. Now he says they are available in most hardware stores. Well i've been to B&Q and nowt, nothing in anyother diy or hardware places here either

Have a quick look if u get chance mate, that would be cool

Done the camera shops - no luck

Sizes:

The thread is the standard size for screwing into a camera
It is about 4cm long all together
The top circular part of the bolt is about 3.5cm in diameter

I have quite a few dealings with RS who sell bits similar to this item
From the view I could not tell what thread size it is, Do you know ?

One other way around it is to give me measurements and I may be able to get one of the guys in the machine shop at work to turn one up on the lathe ?

Regards

Dave

I spent a long time looking for one of these....or something similar.

The problem is that the thread is UNC type.

In the end I managed to get some bolts that allowed me to fix a second head to the mount. (I have a pile of the bolts as I had to buy in bulk).

AE It might be a long shot (if you already haven't tried there) but
on the Holywell Hill in St. Albans is a 2nd hand camera shop, I've looked in several times, and on the whole its usually full of junk, but it may be just the kind of place that might have one of these bolts - IIRC its called Clarks Camera Centre, its on the right hand side as go down the hill from St. Peters Street.
