Default Where to buy a S2000??

Appeal to those who know about the S2000 and have recently bought one....

Have been tempted to trade up from my Subaru to a new S2000 , so popped into the local dealer in Ascot. Asked about a new car in Yellow using their Honda Aspirations PCP.

Can anyone shed light on other garages that do deals or on information about APR's / residual values etc . Also anyone who has owned a Scooby and now has one of these...any comments.....??

Cheers

J

Can only comment on S2000 residuals, which seem to be very good.

Dealers ask (and get) over

Cheers Gaddafi,

Residuals on the Impreza have been slashed, that is my main problem with trading up.......... I have a deposit to put down, but also hope the dealer can at least give me decent part exchange deal to work with before I try and sell privately.

Your right about the MaxPower image...... traffic lights become a main target by every other maxed set of wheels. Wheres off very quickly.

Hi Scooby,

I'm in the process of purchasing a new S2000 through my local Honda dealer.
I am financing the deal through http://www.car-finance.net/ . They do a PCP plan with an APR of 8.9%. Honda's Aspirations can't even come close.
I can't vouch for the ease of implementation as the deal hasn't been finalised yet (waiting for delivery) but I've not found anyone to compare with the price. Plus the administration has been a piece of cake so far.
I don't know if anyone else here has had experience of car-finance.net but if I were you I'd at least check it out.

Damn fine choice of car though.

Scooby,

Andy Winskill used to have both cars, hes since sold his S2000 and I havnt seen him on the board for a while, andys opinion was that the Scooby was the quicker car A to B but the S2000 was more fun, particuarly on the track.

I would get a test drive before deciding, the scooby and the S2000 are quite different cars and it may/may not be the car for you. You will no doubt be used to gobfulls of torque and being able to floor the accelerator out bends with the knowledge that AWD will sort out any problems, this is not the case with the S2000, its power delivery is less torquey and the rear end will bite you if you dont give it respect, particuarly in the wet.

Good Luck

My local dealer, Ashford Honda, had a new yellow one in the showroom two weeks ago. I don't know if it's still for sale.

When I purchased from them, the part ex I got was not great (but as good as I could get elsewhere) but as the car was sat there costing them money I did manage to screw the price down quite a bit. They were willing to deal on the %APR as well. Maybe worth a try.

Very true! If you look at the numbers it can be cheaper to buy a new 996 Carrera on a PCP than a BMW M3 just because of the differing residuals The S2000 does seem to do very well on resale and residuals...
