Could be just that you're not used to the softer sidewalls.

The SO2's are very hard - when I change to my winter tyres it's like driving on marshmallows, especially corners - I get used to it fairly quickly though.

[QUOTE=EddandSam,Aug 4 2005, 04:18 PM] The car seems to behave a little strangely since this. Its not as sure footed and seems to wonder/or be a little wooly in high speed bends/driving. The best way to describe it is like driving in high wind.

I have checked the PSIs put 34 all round

Thanks for the comments guys!!

I'll let Sam know she needs to drive it quicker and harder for a few miles! (if thats possible!!) I haven't really been in it much lately as I have just got and Accord Type R and still playing with that. The other night I lost her round some twisties so she really really must be having handling issues!

I am pretty used to the softer side walls. The last set we had on were cheap crap but did well!

I can't remember what the front end has on it but they aren't too old and not bad! I have pretty much always had different tyres on the front to back with no adverse effects.

Amazingly I am having a similar problem with RE050's. My car just isn't driving like it should and seems floaty at speed too. I have no confidence in the car and my tyres are well scrubbed in. It is going in next week for an alignment check but I have no idea what is wrong with it. It just hasn't been right since about 7 months ago and I reckon since my 1stLotus day. Under heavy braking my car is still moving around a lot and I am tired of trying to figure out what is wrong.
You probably overheated and scrubbed the sticky coat off the tyres!

Also, tracks have more corners one way than the other (bleedin' obviously!), so you've probably radiussed the outer edges on one side. this produces odd handling.

Track days trash tyres. Your car is probably fine. Get a new set before the Autumn rains.

Top tip: never do a trackday the same month that you fit new tyres. I did.

I reckon that Euan is spot on.

S-02s were deliberately designed with very stiff sidewalls.

Mate you have it wrong. I did the Lotus day and then I changed the fronts. I also have changed the rears more recently as well as the brake pads f&r. Still the car feels odd. Driving on the A3 the last few times the car suddenly shifted directions without even any input and the rear especially feels very loose. I'll do the alignment check and see what happens.

Is there anyone close to me who can drive my car and see what is wrong with it?
