Wheels, Wheels and more Wheels
I spotted these ( PX Wheels ) on eBay and as he's not too far away from me, thought I'd pop in and have a look.
Spoke with daughter, as Dad was away on business and I'm going back on Wednesday to talk about wheels and what can be done as a special deal for s2kUK members.
They're installing their own powder coating plant and have wheel balancing and tyre changing facilities in house.
Granted it's a good idea, drive in drop off a set, pick up a 'new' set, drive away.
Only problem is location, location, location.....
If this checks out and we can secure a good deal for members, how can we overcome the problem with location?
I've got a set of 2002 wheels and 2001 (on the car) so I could drop in the 2002's and collect new ones and still have a spare set, but that doesn't help others out.
I'm not yet sure if I'd like 2002 wheels on the car or keep the 2001 'original' wheels.
Either way I'll have a spare set of wheels in the Northwest, so I was wondering if we could, as a Club, hold other spare sets around the country. That way you could pick up the spare set on a loaner basis maybe for a small fee, say

He's a bit far away from me, but he does mention mail order on his posts.
I have two cars so could do without for a few days transit time.
To be honest though, I'm most worried about how they refurb them, I know his photo isn't great but do they simply fill and powder the wheel? On the 2002 wheels, they've got a machined face, I definately wouldn't want to loose that, does that stay?
Neil.

If you get a 'loaner' set (as per the first post) you wouldn't be without your wheels
I'll let you know about the polished face once I've spoken to the guy Wed. I'll be taking an 2002 polished face with me as I'm still tempted to put them on the car.
Pictures?

Most places will not do the diamond cutting, some others will do it but will give no guarantees.
The problem is, as soon as a stone chip or slight kerbing gets under the lacquer there is so much surface area for any water to eat away at the metal and lacquer from the inside. Not good.

It is a question I have for him.
Maybe it'll only be available in powder coat.
Let's see where we go with it.
