Wheels - identifying size
Hi,
My wheels were removed recently to be powder coated. I've not long had them back, and noticed that both the 225 tyres are fitted to the near side, and the 205 to the offside!
It's possible they have just refitted the wheels incorrectly, but its possible they also have mixed up the tyres on the wheels too. Can anyone tell me how to identify which are the rear wheels and which are the fronts?
The wheels are 16" OEM JDM BBS wheels, there are only three markings I cn see on each wheel. BBS, Forged, and a symbol. Nothing about the widths.
Thanks

Just measure the width of the rim? widest go on the rear
Or measure the centre hole, the largest hole goes on the front
I'm pretty sure there must be more writing inside the wheel where it fits against the hub

Othwise leathal, don't take it out in the wet.
And it's not going to do your diff any good!
You could drive it (carefully) back to the place that did it and ask what f**king monkeys they employ get them put right and reballanced.
I've heard of some pleb storys in my time, but this one is first class! Name and shame.

Sorry, but I did have a chuckle about this when I first read it.
I think most wheels will have the diameter, width and offset on the back of one of the spokes - you are going to have to take off the front left to swap with the rear right anyway so that's what I'd do to check. Hopefully, you're in luck and they put the tyres on the correct rims.
