New tyres need anywhere between 500-1000 miles to scrub in, couple that to the slippy road conditions and it's little surprise your having a twitch on.

"Where are you going?"
"Off to drive a couple of hundred miles"
"But we need to go shopping and clean the house!"
"Well, I would love to but I have been informed that I need to go out driving otherwise my car is a deathtrap! What would you rather have, a clean house or an alive me?"

Sounds like a plan "Honney I'm away to Applecross, back later"
You'd better get the practice in, it becomes an addiction.
The amount of times i've just "popped" out for milk only to come home a few hours later
