Heat soak or the MAP playing up, or both
Get a new MAP from Hardtopguy and I think you'll find a massive improvement.

Don't think we have had a day hot enough to cause a problem this year.

I have a AEM V2 and got a new map sensor and was still getting a bit of kang o roo. I took off the throttle body cleaned it and tightened the throttle cable so it was taught(not tight) and that solved it.

I had a similar experience to the OP in the heat last summer. Stuck in traffic for 10 mins, then off from the lights - felt like I'd left the handbrake on or something. I ended up dipping the clutch and blipping a few times before trying again. this made things better, but it still felt gutless.

I don't think it's got much to do with external temp, more to do with the buildup of heat within the engine. Don't forget that if you're stuck in traffic, the heat from everyone else's vehicles will also contribute to the intake temp...

I did take the advice and adjusted the throttle cable too.

I now have fewer problems, mainly because I have my air box lid back on!

I had massive heatsoak on the '07 tunnel run where the car was lumpy and wouldn't idle (it'd stall in neutral).

But then it was on a warm summers day, driving through London and then getting stuck in traffic.

I had to keep heel and toeing to keep the revs up when stationary.

That was with exhaust wrap on the manifold, vented bonnet, ally rad, lower temp thermostat, and a cold air intake.

Yesterday was the most notable heat soak I've experienced with this current S.

Sat in f ucking holiday traffic for 15 mins at walking pace yesterday trying to get home and when I - at long last - got to my turn-off I accelerated and found the S quite slovenly and disinterested and even a bit lethargic going into VTEC - and in these heat soak circumstances it doesn't so much progressively/smoothly engage between 6 and 6.5K revs but sort of 'sticks' a little bit until 6.25K revs and makes a slight audible single click/tick as it releases.... BTW anyone else ever noticed the latter?? I'm sure I've read about it being a commonish characteristic of VTEC engines.

Had the same on Good Friday sat in stop start traffic on the M4 for 50 odd miles, felt really like I was driving a 1.0 Lupo when trying to get some speed up once the traffic eventually picked up pace!
